Let's Plant a Better Santa Ana, Together

We can make a big difference at home. Because for a tiny bee, your yard might be its entire universe.

What is Rewilding?

Rewilding is the restorative process of reintoducing lost parts of our local ecosystems so the natural world can function as intended again. Native plants support the insects and caterpillars essential for bird populations, which non-native grass and ornamental trees do not.
Santa Ana was once a biodiversity hotspot containing Coastal Sage Scrub, Chaparral, Oak Woodlands, and Riparian habitats. Sadly, we've lost the majority of these habitats to agriculture and development. Rewilding is a way to mutually benefit ourselves and nature, because our well-being is directly linked to the health of our environment.
